Celebrity Draw

Ice-T and 'friend'. Don't listen to him, pimpin' bloody well IS easy!
Having just reviewed
Hardcore Gangstas, a site that boasts appearances by rap legend
Ice-T on its pages, one would have to ask the question as to whether there is actually any point in having such big names on porn sites?
For a while now, rap stars have been a feature of hardcore porn, a trend probably started by Snoop Dogg a fair few years ago now. But as porn stars filter in to the mainstream (Jenna Jameson and Mary Carey in particular, albeit for varying reasons), just how likely and necessary is it that celebrities from the 'mainstream' filter into porn?
Over here in Britain, it's commonplace for people who have found fame in the mainstream media to end up attached to porn. Big Brother stars Michelle Bass and Emma Greenwood have both become presenters on porn channels over here, whilst another, Nasty Nick Bateman, has presented an all-girl gangbang featuring some of the biggest female British adult stars. The lucky swine.
Meanwhile, Abi Titmuss also briefly flirted with such matters and soap star Gemma Atkinson is apparently on the verge of such a deal. But would you susbcribe to a site or TV station based on the appearance of a star name?
I mean, the female names are draw as they are all attractive, but their appearances are fleeting and they don't get 'down and dirty' themselves. Would you susbcribe to Hardcore Gangstas because Ice-T is on it? All he does is have a couple of monologues and watch the action, he never gets directly involved.
Maybe that's not the point. Maybe sites and stations are not aiming to attract punters who happen to be fans of these names. Ultimately, it could all be about publicity and what-have-you. Just don't expect Oprah Winfrey to pop up on one any time soon.
