Magazines On The Internet?

There have been attempts at bringing many things from the physical world on to the internet. Most notably, years ago 'experts' insisted that we would no longer go out and buy a newspaper but would instead read online versions of them. Yeah right. Because let's face it, people are going to use laptops that cost hundreds of pounds to read about Tom Cruise's latest bout of lunacy, when the prospect of having their copy of The Daily Sport stolen on the bus to work is a lot less costly.
An attempt to bring magazines to the internet world of pornography is continuing apace though, and in this area I think such a transition is all the more likely, if not exactly entirely necessary. It's considerably less embarrassing to be seen reading a copy of The Times during morning rush hour than reading a copy of
Hustler. That site, and other mega-bucks porn magazine companies continue to try and put their print publications on to the web
FM-Teens is a site that never started off as a print publication in the first place, and isn't really one magazine with lots of issues. It seems to be a group of lots of different magazines (expanding almost by the week) that each in themselves update regularly, but only use a specific selection of girls in each of them, thus basically creating a selection of 'solo' sites dedicated to particular girls.
It's an interesting idea and certainly one that is original - if not particularly brilliantly executed. The content's more than fine, as are the girls. But in terms of being 'magazines' they are sorely lacking. I mean, where are the letters pages where people write in and lie through their teeth about fucking a hot woman on top of the Statue Of Liberty? Where are the editorials with supposedly humorous captions underrneath them? And where are the pages and pages of adverts for penis-enlarging products? This can't be a porn magazine without those!
Alright, so maybe I'm being a bit facetious, and we're happy to be shot of those things. FM-Teens does at least try something new - it's just not really a magazine, or even a collection of them. It's just a collection of teen sites. I don't really think that companies should try directly porting their magazines online, because they never really work that well. By all means get the pictorials on to your website, but all the other stuff is best left in the print versions. Some things just don't translate to certain media very well.
Nevertheless, I did like FM-Teens despite its faults, and as far as I'm concerned any site that tries something different is alright with me. It's just a shame they didn't have an option where you could subscribe to all the magazines as a bundle. Also, just think about it. If FM-Teens takes off as a genre and leads to a whole host of online magazines, think of the embarrassment you'll be saved if you're a bit of a shorty trying to jump up for the latest copy of Razzle.
