The news that just over a third of Chinese web searches are to do with adult entertainment or porn won't really surprise anyone. It just shows that even a Communist regime can't stop people from wanting to watch sex.

When you bear in mind that that country's population is WAY over 1 billion people, you've got to ask yourself why more porn companies aren't cashing in on this. The potential for earnings is absolutely huge.

Even if you just had a website where the text was in Mandarin or Cantonese (or both) then you are immediately, potentially, opening yourself up to an even more vast market than you may hev had before.

But then, foreign language porn is a surprising rarity. The amount of porn that I've reviewed in a language other than English is really quite small - I'd say around 5%, certainly no more than about 10% of it.

You do get occasional instances of foreign language stuff. The German language content you usually get from the Euro Revenue network is probably one of the better examples that you will see of that.

In general though, unless you speak English then there's a good chance that you are sailing blind in the world of porn for the most part. The world of foreign language porn does certainly intrigue me though - I'm pretty sure there's a fortune to be made there!
