I've been noticing increasingly recently that there are more and more Oriental sites dropping in for a review. That might not seem especially surprising to you, but it's the actual type of Oriental sites that has surprised me.

The arrival of Jav HQ is the latest in an increased stream of Oriental sites that, shock horror, actually feature content from the far East. Such occurrences are actually surprisingly rare in the Oriental niche so you might ask why many sites are listed as such?

It's a tricky one, really. They are usually listed as such because the girls happen to be Asian in origin, and the actual origin of the content tends to play very little part at all in the site being listed, which might seem strange.

But just because the likes of Asia Carrera are not actually from Asia, then it does create a bit of a split sometimes in those who do favour this niche of content between those who just like the girls and those who want genuine Oriental content.

The split though can be driven just as much by the difference in content. Whilst the Oriental-American stars will tend to be in content that is entirely American in its subject, content from Japan and the like tends to have very different themes.

It does make the Oriental niche (I tend not to call it Asian as Asia is a very big place and it's not a very specfic title) one of the most varied and largest niches around - but do make sure you choose carefully when you go for it!
