Porn Industry Ponders Piracy Problem

Not that type of pirate.
Hmm, what a wonderfully alliterate title that is, completely unexpected, I must say. But instead of this entry being dedicated to my smugness about my great blog entry title, it's meant to be about something more 'serious'.
So, loads of porn producers got together this weekend to discuss the problem of porn piracy - again. It seems to me that people in video and music media are really good at holding conferences about this type of thing, but not so good at actually doing anything.
Basically, these people came to the inclusion that they need to do something. Well, blow me down. Once again, they really failed to pinpoint an area they're really going to work on or even suggest an area they can really attack.
The problem they face is that authorities are unsympathetic towards porn companies if they are having their stuff pirated. VERY few cases of pirated porn ever make it to court compared to stealing music or mainstream films.
The industry really does need to get off its arse if it wants to change figures that suggest that only 20% of all porn sales are actually legitimate and legal sales. That's a HUGE chunk of the industry that is being lost.
Just as long as they don't decide that DRM is the way for the industry to go though, then I'm all for any suggestions. Clearly something needs to be done - but that's pretty much the inly thing they can agree on.
