A Lesson In Not Russian Into Things

The ever increasing stake that Russian companies and indeed Russian performers have in the current adult market as a whole is one that can lead to confusion. I, personally, don't have any problem with their expansion. All you have to do is attend a ladies tennis event these days, try spotting a single Russian player who isn't absolutely drop-dead-gorgeous, and you'll see why their increasing stranglehold is going to be far from a bad thing.
Confusion can arise from that dominance though. Unless a site expresses themselves as otherwise, if it's a site based around eastern European beauties then you almost immediately presume that it's those Russians again. Or at least I do. But I'm a simple-minded soul. Such confusion recently grabbed a hold of me when I reviewed
Feet Factory.
Feet Factory is a very decent little foot fetish site that, although it possesses an archive that's far too small for a site that's well into its fourth year of trading, covers a lot of foot and leg bases. It does all that you ask of it really, except for going the hardcore route into footjobs and the suchlike, but traditional foot fetishists don't really put that type of thing under their banner anyway. After doing the review, our esteemed editor recieved an email pointing out that the girls were Polish but not Russian as I stated in the review before it was amended.
My immediate reaction was to wonder, "Well, why the blinking hell did you not say this on your site in the first place?!" but then it got me thinking about how much eastern Europe, headed by Russia, is encroaching into the market in general. You would be surprised by the amount of big name pornstars, particularly female ones, that come from that region. Don't be fooled by names like Silvia Saint, Monica Sweetheart and Sandra Shine - they, and MANY others besides, originated from behind where the Iron Curtain used to be drawn.
I have been asked why girls from that region, and indeed sites, lend themselves to fetishes such as foot fetish and other fairly gentle niches such as those, as well as the artistic photography sites from the likes of Petter Hegre (a man currently copping a fair amount of ire from one of our readers on our forum) and Model Flats. I'm not entirely sure. I think it's because girls from that region have a porcelain and pale delicacy about their looks (usually helped by their blondeness!) that lends itself to such photography as practiced by the photographers that particularly contribute to those sites and a fair few others like them. Obviously not all girls from that region must look like that, but I've certainly never seen such a photpgraphy site that concentrates on Latina and Oriental girls in the same way. I'd like to though.
What my little mistake did teach me though is that it isn't just the Russians who are steadily eating into the current market more and more, but they are being aided and abetted by the rest of their surrounding region too. I mean, if a site like Hungarian Honeys can boast such a staggering amount of content from just that one middle-sized country, then you can see that this region can't be far off dominating the adult market outright. And as I mentioned earlier, I don't think that would be a bad thing at all.
