Porn Meets Wrestling - part 1

You know, this story really did make me wonder why I hadn't done an entry about the crossover between porn and wrestling before. It seems an obvious subject, to all intents and purposes, as the two cross over a lot.
I'm a wrestling fan. I'm not ashamed of that. I mostly like the indie and Japanese stuff, tastes which, interestingly enough, also echo my porn tastes. And for quite some years now, the two elements have crossed over a lot.
This particular video is the result of a foray into porn by a wrestler mostly known as Gangrel if you're a WWE follower, now known as the Vampire Warrior. He signed a deal a while back to star and produced in a number of porn flicks. This is, presumably, a sample of one of his first efforts.
But the two industries do cross over a bizarre amount and I've been trying to wonder why. One reason would be that wrestling does tend to like to use a lot of eye candy, and as a result companies tend to bring in pornstars to do the job as the are often cheaper to use.
As a result, you can quite often see a fair few pornstars knocking around all manner of independent shows all over America in particicular. Also, if things dry up on the wrestling front, wrestlers can turn to porn to pay the bills.
Gangrel is an obvious example here, as is former WWE women's and intercontinental champion Chyna who starred in the terrible 1 Night In China with her former wrestler boyfriend Sean Waltman. Meanwhile, Buff Bagwell topped up his WCW earnings in the 90s by starring in soft porn too.
Sometimes though, the crossover is altogether more influential.....
