Police Cite Man for Watching Porn in Car

Porn and cars can definitely go together, as you can see.
The story about police citing a man for watching porn in his car does worry me somewhat, I must say. It seems that rather than the slightly more serious crime of the fact that this guy was driving without a licence that the police were slightly more interested in the fact that he was watching porn.
Last week I did an entry about a news story that I'd read where some woman had complained to her airline that a chap she sat next to on a plane had been reading a copy of Playboy and been allowed to get away with it.
Yet here, in this story, we have a bloke who was watching porn in his car but this apparently isn't allowed. I'm somewhat confused by this. What IS and is NOT acceptable in society these days as far as the law goes?
I mean, over here in Britain the laws surrounding the purchase of XXX-rated and hardcore porn are so incredibly vague that you really don't know what the hell is going to happen to you if you are caught buying this stuff.
Would this guy have been allowed to get away with it if he'd had tinted windows, I wonder? Because, you know, he could have opened the door and an innocent old lady could have seen it and died as a result of the images.
You know, it's true what Charles Dickens once wrote - the law really is a ass.
