From Porn To Mainstream

I always thought Stormy was a great name for a pornstar.

A subject that often crops up in this blog is with regard to pornstars making a successful transition to the mainstream, usually in connection to the latest Jenna Jameson occurrence, as it turns out.

But other pornstars other than Jenna have made an attempt to jump to the mainstream and, unfortunately, most of the attempts have been largely met with little success. If they will keep trying though!

Jenna's latest bid for the mainstream comes courtesy of Zombie Strippers, although I can't see that sweeping the Oscars next year! Another pornstar of yesteryear though, Marilyn Chambers, was gifted a reasonably successful mainstream movie career.

You and I might know her most from retro sites like Pornstar Classics, but acclaimed horror director David Cronenberg cast her in a major role in his movie Rabid. She then even went on to have pop chart success!

Whilst she continues to make hardcore appearances in sites like MILF Hunter, the controversial porn career of Traci Lords is now well behind her. Although these days she languishes largely in DTV hell, she has racked up some impressive credits.

The splendid underrated musical Cry Baby, as well as Blade and Serial Mom are some of her credits and she is arguably the most commercially successful pornstar of all time outside her initial industry.
