Scarlett To Play Porn Star?
We need this woman to get naked. VERY SOON.
The unlikely source of
NZ Herald tells us that the delightful
Scarlett Johansson is being touted to play
Jenna Jameson in a mainstream film of her life. Sounds like a good idea, doesn't it?
Well, in principle, yes it is. Because it would mean we get to see Scarlett naked. And that's something we've all wanted to see (and I mean ALL OF US) since the opening credits of Lost In Translation. But would it be a good idea in any other way?
Personally, I don't like people nominating who they would like to play them in a film. Quite often they are born more out of wish fulfillment than actual likeness. Jenna is hot, definitely. But as far as I'm concerned, she is punching above her weight trying to get Scarlett to play her. I think someone like Virginia Madsen or that blonde girl out of Nip/Tuck are more likely suggestions.
I've not read the book in question, but I just think it's too early for there to be a biopic of Jameson. She's not dead yet, and her career is far from over. I know it wouldn't be a straightforward biopic as this would be an adaptation of a book. But it would be as near to a biopic as you are likely to get.
We all know that Jenna is trying to move more in to the mainstream media and move away from duties on Club Jenna as much as possible. A recent VH-1 special and all manner of recent mainstream appearances are more than small clues about this. But for me, I don't think it's the right time to watch a film about someone who probably hasn't lived quite enough for us to want to watch a film about her. Yet.
