The Suicide Girls Effect

Prior to the influential and now widely praised and embraced site Suicide Girls, I can't remember many community based sites dedicated to the goth / punk / raver girl niches. Then, remarkably, plenty seemed to have sprung up within a pretty short space of time.
The question you have to ask is whether imitation is the most sincere form of flattery or whether we actually need a bunch of other sites springing up of pretty much the same sort of thing.
The most recent such site I reviewed was Razordolls, a flawed but reasonable addition to these communities. Like Suicide Girls and indeed a couple of other sites I've reviewed in the last few months, including the interestingly named Suicide Girlfriend, they are all based around amateur submissions, allow non-models to interact freely with the models and, most tellingly of all for me, feature band interviews.
Now these are totally my types of girls. Although I'm not in to the scene myself, and would prefer to gouge my own ears out with a pen-knife than listen to most of the music associated with the scene let alone read reviews of them, I absolutely love girls of this type and could quite happily sit and review dozens of these types of sites and not really get bored. Just as long as the girls look a bit (or preferably a lot) like Kittie Slaughter above then I'm happy.
But seeing as though the content on the 'inspired' sites seems to be not quite as well honed and polished as that which you can see on Suicide Girls, why would people choose to susbcribe to inferior, if still very decent, unofficial spin-offs? Personally speaking, I wouldn't be at all surprised if these sites sprung up as a result of somebody getting pissed off at not being accepted on the aforementioned site or getting banned from it and setting up their own. I've seen it happen a lot, not necessarily on adult sites though.
I suppose there are those, like me (if I could afford to) that just want to take in as much of the genre as they can, knowing full well that they aregetting 'genuine' girls from the scene rather than mainstream porn misappropriations that are just some normal star dressed in leather. If that's the case, then there needs to be a lot more sites like this. And I, personally, would not have any argument about that.
Enough with the band interviews though, seriously.
