The Beast

Beauty....where's the beast?

It's not often I talk about mainstream cinema on this blog, for obvious reasons. This is a porn blog and there isn't a hell of a lot of pornography in mainstream cinema for one reason or another.

But for some reason this afternoon, as I wait for the Sunday roast to finish and as I watch a dull football match, I was thinking about probably the weirdest and, in some ways, most explicit mainstream cinema film I ever saw, called The Beast.

Or, to give it its correct French title, La Bete. This bizarre film was the story of some woman who had inherited a country estate somewhere, and in the film virtually nothing happens for the first hour except for thye heroine masturbating with rose petals at one point.

The story behind the film is that there is some great gorilla-like beast rampaging around the estate in some woods that belonged to it. You don't see this great beast for quite some time - but when you do it really is quite some sight.

What results is a succession of sex scenes, when the lady in question ventures into said woods, which unsurprisingly led to the film being banned for over 20 years in Britain due to their rather questionable 'animalistic' nature.

What's bizarre about it is that these scenes are allowed in a mainstream cinema film - yet if these types of things were included in a porn film, even if they aren't real and are clearly thye results of great make-up effects and suits, there is NO WAY they would be released.

Funny world, eh?
