Women Addicted

Maybe the girls need one of these?

This article does highlight some fascinating and really quite pertinent points when it comes to porn addiction, which is quite unusual when you consider that most media articles about porn addiction are hysterical and borderline ridiculous.

It had me thinking about women in relation to porn as a wider context though. In an industry where women are the focal point the vast majority of the time, the way they are regarded (not treated, that's a whole other argument) is interesting to me.

For instance, you get sites that promote themselves as 'for women'. But they seem completely inderminate as to what they're trying to be on the whole, with a few images of muscle-bound blokes in the shower and that's about it.

About the only decent one I've ever seen is For The Girls and that gets practically no coverage from the industry as a whole. It seems to me that there isn't a whole lot out there for straight women to get addicted to.

But the interesting point about the article is the fact that it points largely towards women and their addiction to performing on the internet, as there are so many different forums and ways through which they can perform.

It's this point that really holds the article together as far as I'm concerned and acknowledges that with regard to porn that addiction could well be a two-way street. However, one of those lanes is very narrow and there ain't much traffic filing down it.
