Hothouse Backroom

Let me start of this review by letting you know that if you don't have the current version of Flash installed on your computer than your not going to get the most out of the web site. No worries though, because the site will ask you if you want to update your Flash installation, and within minutes you can be ready to enter the site.

Hot House Backroom is exclusively a video download site. That means that you won't find the picture content that you would normally find on other sites, other than screen shots of the movies. It's all DVD releases from Hot House Entertainment. And most of the movies here can't be seen anywhere else. Members can also see Hot House Entertainment releases before they are released on DVD.

At the time of this review, there were around 55 full length DVD's covering a variety of niches which include everthing from anal sex and big cocks to hairy and watersports. The movies play with a resolution of 352x288 pixels. The biggest flaw that the videos have is that they are streaming only as there are no options to download them to your computer. Each movie is cut into several scenes, I would have liked an option to view the whole movie in one shot. Sure, the Flash movies stream very well but I'm a guy who likes a little control over my content.

With that being said the movies are pretty fucking hot. The guys are strapping hunks and some of them are, for lack of a better word, beautiful. And while the action can be very hardcore and intense, most of the movies start out with kissing and caressing.

In gay porn nowadays, there has been a movement away from sensuality, with movies getting harder and harder without the forplay. Fortunately, Hot House Backroom doesn't subscribe to this movement. These guys hold, kiss and caress each other like real couples would. I'm glad to see that they were able to mix the sensual with ball draining hardcore that will make you clutch the edge of your seat.

No doubt, this is a very jazzy site. The Flash interface offers it's members a very state of the art looking site. But, there are a couple of problems that I need to point out.

One, sometimes the loading of the members area could be quite slow, especially when I was jumping from one movie to the next. Two, occassionally when I was finished watching a movie it was hard to get back to the members area. A couple of times I had to re-enter the members area.

Hot House Backroom settles the argument of substance versus style. The interface is flashy and is very well done but this site doesn't have enough substance to take the next step up.

There are a limited amount of movies available and to be quite frank, the price is very high for what they offer here. The movies and the men are very hot so maybe, after a few months more of updates this site will be a real contender.
