One of the most welcome trends that we have seen in some of the sites we have reviewed in 2011 has been the fact that we have seen a lot of cartoon and comic strip sites that have not been from Japan. In fact, I think sites of a more Western origin like Leandro Comics have outnumbered those from Japan or featuring Japanese content. Which I think makes for a very refreshing change, and it’s been good to see other styles get an airing regularly.
There is no such outstanding style here that I noticed - Leandro tends to opt for different themes and looks for his sets, but there is usually a pervading sense of traditional American comic book styles in what he does, albeit with a hardcore or lesbian sex twist. His influences, in terms of artists and characters, are pretty easy to spot (especially for comic book fans, of which I’m not one but even I could spot them!) and the strips are always enjoyable and rude.
The navigation here is okay but obviously with the lack of options on the strips and galleries there are not that many viewing options for you to make use of - then again, what more could they do with images.
The descriptions of each of the galleries were very in-depth and impressive, but I would have thought that would have led on to some fuller update information. On the whole, though, it’s an easy enough site to get around.
I think that Leandro Comics will probably be able to offer something that both erotic art fans and those who also have an interest in mainstream comic books should be able to enjoy.
There are plenty of strips and comics to enjoy here and although he hasn’t gone down the moving image route as yet, his quality is consistent and his stories are always pretty entertaining.
