Live Gonzo is a site with an idea that I very much approve of. Unless you go out to a show, there are very few opportunities to see top quality porn stars in live action, but the chances are growing. A site like this is a perfect opportunity in principle and with you able to see all the stuff that would normally be edited out of any porn videos you watched. It’s a great chance to see a porn video being made too, and seeing how the performers prepared for their shoots.
Personally though, I found that it didn’t grab me as much as I was expecting it to. Having been so used to watching porn videos edited so that I can watch them without the stop-start nature to the live shows here, I guess I’m not as patient as I could be. The stars are fantastic - Eva Angelina, Sophie Dee, Clara G et al - but I guess it’s true what the comedian Mark Lamarr said - given the opportunity to experience something recorded and edited properly in a studio, that seems far more preferable to the live alternative.
User Interface
The navigation here did have its good points but also its bad points. The initial main members’ area page didn’t work well due to a whole load of videos wanting to stream at once - my browser didn’t enjoy that.
Plus, given the long gaps between shows, I think a long-term update schedule is very much necessary on this site. Still, the options on the recorded shows are fantastic, I have to say, and the videos look absolutely amazing in their HD format.
Conclusion
I think that Live Gonzo is a site that definitely should be encouraged even if it wasn’t my cup of tea. It’s certainly a unique chance to see real live hardcore action with huge porn stars, and that is definitely something to enjoy.
I think that the value of the site is compromised by how few shows they currently have on board and how far apart the live shows are. To that end, the pay-per-view payment system is what I would recommend to get best value from this.
