It was quite a surprise a few months ago when I reviewed Marina Mendoza and discovered that the ‘Latina 18+ teen babe’ that they had on board was none other than a certain Eve Angel. I had to double-check a few times before I finally believed it. Wait a minute, though – she’s not a Latina. She’s from Budapest! If I was perplexed by this ethnic surrealism then I can only imagine what Eve, who was born and bred in Hungary of Hungarian parents, thought of it all.

Mind you, she was the one who chose this particular stage name – quite why she went for a Latin American name is initially a puzzle. Asking myself the question of whether I would have tagged her as a Latina if I’d never seen her before and I thought, well, not really. But I suppose that the round figure and more than notable ass and admittedly exotic features would perhaps just about her pass her off as such. Nonetheless, it’s going to prove an unusual footnote to an impressive career when she finishes one day.

As it turns out, this earlier incarnation of her career is the one under which she performed a fair amount of hardcore content before soon after opting for lesbian and solo content only. It’s under her more recent name and, briefly (but notably) as Severine that she has earned much of her notice and popularity despite the fact that an ‘official’ Marina Mendoza website still exists, as seen above.

She’s regarded by many as the central and most popular of the recent invasion of Hungarian adult models, perhaps due more to her sensational natural looks than anything else. Compared to her Hungarian peers such as Sophie Moone and Sandra Shine, most notably, she hasn’t been anywhere near as prolific in terms of the movies she’s starred in, nor has her official website received quite as many plaudits, despite being very good anyway. But more on that later.

It seems that sheer unadulterated beauty is the reason why she has become so popular and the fact that she’s such an outstanding solo and girl-girl performer. Her early hardcore performances clearly show her to be not nearly as happy as she has been in her post-hardcore days, but performances on the likes of Private Castings X 31 in 2001 alongside Pierre Woodman are still much sought after nonetheless. In this movie she can be seen having anal sex as well as taking a facial cumshot.

As has tended to be the case with many Hungarian adult models, she found herself working mostly with the 21 Sextury label, quite often with her countrywomen in lesbian scenes, but she has found perhaps most of her acclaimed work alongside Viv Thomas in a large number of movies. She still works extensively with Thomas today and over a quarter of her movie appearances to date have been in his movies, and she features prominently on his official site.

The relatively small amount of movies that Eve Angel has appeared in during her career can perhaps be put down to a perceived preference to doing still photography shoots. Indeed, she has appeared extensively on the covers of many adult magazines across Europe in particular including Swank and Penthouse amongst many others and has also worked a hell of a lot more on the pictorial side of things with Viv Thomas than even on the video side of things.

However, the last couple of years have provided a fair amount of mysteries surrounding her website. For several months in 2007 it stopped updating and her diary entries for the site stopped too. However, when the site did begin updating again it was revealed by a source close to Eve that older content was being rotated and promoted as new content. It was alleged that Eve Angel was no longer attached to the site and would shoot no more content with after apparently becoming unhappy with the site’s owners and with the continued existence of the Marina Mendoza site.

In a bizarre twist, it was discovered that new footage of her had been appearing on an unofficial site called Sweet Eva that was meant to be dedicated to content from her amateur modelling days under the name as Eva Shine. Your best bet for new Eve Angel content would be on the Viv Thomas website, and should put to bed the rumours that she has retired. She hasn’t, thankfully, and we haven’t lose arguably one of the most naturally beautiful women in the entire history of the adult industry.
