A self-confessed tomboy with a love of motorcycles, guns and hunting, and with fiery Germanic blood in her, Jelena Jensen may sound like something of a scary proposition. She also might sound like the kind of girl who would sweep into hardcore porn and become a huge star. But both of those things could not be further from the truth. Having moulded a career as one of the most successful nude glamour models and lesbian performers in the American industry and shying completely away from hardcore, she has become known for her beautiful and sensual glamour shoots.
But it just goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover. Because, if you’d seen Jensen before you knew anything about her, you wouldn’t have guessed any of those things about her. Then again, she is a performer who has many things about her that you might not necessarily have guessed. One of those would definitely be the fact that she graduated from Chapman University ‘magna cum laude’ with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts In Film And Television Production in 2003. It seems that a future career behind the cameras is almost certain in her case.
Rather than paying her way through college with a modelling career, she moved into the glamour and adult industries afterwards in an attempt to pay off her debts afterwards. And, unsurprisingly when you see her 34DD-26-36 figure, she found instant success. Her first ever photo shoot was published in Club Magazine in August 2003, a remarkable start to any career. But just two months later she would be appearing on Playboy’s Sexy Girls Next Door TV show, and indeed winning. It was at this point her career really exploded.
Within several weeks she had shot her Hustler Honey Of The Month shoot for publishing in April 2004, agreed a deal to appear in Andrew Blake’s new movie and shot for Digital Playground for the very first time. It was the latter partnership that would arguably become her most defining - to date she has shot far more for that company than any other. Understandably, she gave up on any external work because she was booked to do so much work within the adult industry.
And since then it has been practically non-stop for Jelena, with very few breaks in-between. As mentioned above, her most notable partnership has been with director Robby D for the Jack’s Playground series of videos as well as a couple of off-shoot series, most notably Jack’s My First Porn. As much as anything, these series are well-known for their sense of humour and for giving its stars a shot at comedy, and gave Jensen a chance to show off her reasonable (by porn standards) acting skills. In January 2006 she snagged a Danni.com award as their girl of the month, strengthening her online presence.
It is the ability to at least deliver a line reasonably convincingly that led to her snagging a role in her first mainstream movie, Bad Biology, a horror-comedy from cult horror director Frank Henenlotter that has won awards at several horror festivals. The shooting of that movie, along with concentrating on her extremely well received official site, has led to her slowing down her shoots a little over the last year or so. She continues to maintain her independence by running her own website herself and with no affiliations to any other adult companies.
In addition to that, she spent a lot of time shooting for her starring role on Playboy’s Totally Busted and may be looking to break into mainstream acting on a fuller basis. And, of course, with her film production major behind her, this may also be a direction that she will look to go in. Whatever the future may hold for her, she is one of the most recognisable and sexiest adult models around, and not a performer who even needs to consider moving into hardcore.
