You may or may not have known that Jenna Haze came up with her
porn pseudonym by partially naming herself after her favourite Jimi Hendrix song,
Purple Haze - and because she rather enjoyed consuming rather
a lot of marijuana. Whether or not Jenna still likes to partake
of the old weed is not widely known, but one could never suggest that it has clouded
what has been a stellar adult career to date.
Jenna Haze's adult career threatened to start out much like
most adult careers start out - with some stripping and lapdancing. But, put
off by the fact that she didn't like to perform for people she had to pretend
to like, she felt more comfortable jumping more or less straight into hardcore
porn performing with people she felt she could get to know and feel more comfortable
with. Her preference for developing chemistry with her fellow performers probably
accounts for her romance with one-time co-star Jules Jordan
and one AVN Award for Best On-Screen Chemistry.
Jenna's major breakthrough came in 2002 when she signed a
contract with Jill Kelly Productions, with whom she performed
regularly in some of their most prolific and popular series. Featuring heavily
in the acclaimed 100% Blowjobs and When The Boyz Are
Away The Girlz Will Play series, she felt completely at home in a company
run by a woman, and surrounded by some of the best female performers in
the industry.
Indeed, her relationship with Kelly's company would lead to a series of movies
dedicated to her called Jenna Loves... that continued to see
her star rise. By this point, she was producing such regularly high quality
performances that she was, in many people's eyes, starting to out-perform a
certain namesake of hers. Her career progression to this point had been based
largely around lesbian movies, but a more dedicated move into hardcore coincided
with the end of her contract with Jill Kelly Productions.
Her first hardcore release for over 2 years, Jenna Haze Darkside,
was immediately acclaimed and an award-winner, persuading her that she had made
the right decision. The movie was directed by Jules Jordan,
a relationship that would not only be beneficial to Haze on
a romantic front, but also on a professional front. His successful involvement
with Premium Multimedia, who had launched his official site,
in turn persuaded Jenna to have her own official site hosted
by the company. The site was subsequently launched in April 2007, receiving
largely positive reviews, although the site's scope to date has largely been
on her hardcore career.
Unusually for such a high profile adult star who has now been active for the
best part of 7 years, her career has yet to hit any significant troughs -
not bad for someone who has featured in approximately 350 movies. Time will
tell whether this will continue to be the case. But even now in 2008, her movies
continue to garner award after award, as does she.
Her most recent high profile appearance, in Interactive Sex With Jenna
Haze has already raked in 4 major industry awards, and a new working
relationship with the Zero Tolerance label has continued to
see her career go from strength-to-strength. She seems to have the knack of
being in the right place at the right time and, for her sake, we hope that continues
to be the case.
