Bearing in mind the controversy and overhaul that the adult industry suffered over the Traci Lords affair, it's perhaps surprising to some that Krystal Steal's career in adult entertainment got under way. Although she was a very naughty girl in using a fake ID to become a stripper before her 18th birthday, subsequently she has mostly wiped out the memories of the early days of her career with an impressive CV of movie appearances and performances that have established her as one of the most popular blondes in mainstream porn.

She had pretty much decided from very early on that she wanted to forge a career in adult circles, and after becoming by far the most popular attraction at the stripping club she worked at, she quickly made moves to attempt to break into porn. She got her first breast enlargement operation just after her 18th birthday, but she was never particularly happy with the procedure and had another operation almost exactly two years afterwards which she was far happier with.

She made her movie debut in 2001 after successfully breaking into the industry after some successful magazine and website shoots in the Adventures Of Craven Moorehead series. Not long after though her talents were duly noticed and she would appear in episodes 25 and 28 of Peter North's North Pole series. At around the same time she had struck up a great friendship with Jenna Haze and they would often drive and accompany each other to shoots.

Immediately though she set aside strict rules that she would adhere to throughout her career. She largely chose to star with guys who weren't single as much as possible as she felt single guys were more likely to be 'weird', and insisted on hand-picking her co-stars. She also refused to do anal completely although she continues to receive offers to do so, but controversially she also refuses to do interracial content. Although it's not unheard of in the industry to opt out of mixed-race action, the fact that she went public with this was a move that didn't endear her to many.

Her stubborn refusal to tone down her occasionally controversial opinions didn't stop her from securing two extremely lucrative contracts along the way. This was the case even after she lambasted popular director and actor Eric Everhard by calling him a 'fucking scumbag' and rating her experience of working with him as the worst of her entire career. Pleasure Productions didn't baulk at her sparkiness though and offered her a contract which saw her shoot over 20 movies for them between 2002 and 2006. It's believed she secured the contract off the back of her performances in the excellent Backseat Confidential and Flesh Hunter 1.

At the end of 2003 she hit the big time in no uncertain terms when she was offered a contract to become the very first contract Club Jenna girl, with Jenna Jameson admitting that she saw a lot of Krystal Steal in her, and seemingly not perturbed by Krystal's aggressive interviews. Interestingly, her contract with Pleasure Productions was allowed to run concurrently with her Club Jenna commitments and as it would turn out, her working relationship with her first contracted company would outlast that of her more high-profile deal.

Although she shot Jenna's Provocateur and Krystal Therapy with the company, her output was considerably less prolific and her work was mostly done for the company's website. Some attributed this for the reason why she chose not to renew her contract at the end of 2005 when her original 2 year deal ran out. After the end of the deal, she took to touring the USA as a dancer and enjoyed some time travelling, essentially taking over a year-long hiatus from the industry.

She came back to prominence last year when she signed a deal with Adult Talent Managers and has since appeared in movies for Brazzers and Vivid. Earlier this year she unveiled a brand new look, a 'Posh Spice hairdo' as she called it, and revealed that she was looking to take her career in a new 'darker direction' which many have taken to mean that she could be looking to move into the fetish and BDSM market despite little or no experience in the genres. However, she has yet to reveal or confirm this is what she meant.

She might well rub people up the wrong way and her individual beliefs may have seen her ostracised from some areas of the industry, but porn is certainly a lot more interesting for having Krystal Steal in it
