This site currently contains a total of 563 full length movies, adding to just under 3300 scenes in all. The videos are available in WMV, MPEG and DivX formats at a best size of 640x480 (1500kbps), although sizes do vary from video to video. There was no update information available here.
There are a lot of retro porn sites around these days, and the market is verging on being saturated with them. But how many of them feature a full-length David Cronenberg film on them? Probably none - except for Retro Porn Flix! Yes, bizarrely they feature Rabid, his 1977 horror film here, presumably because it’s got Marilyn Chambers in it, even though it isn’t pornographic at all aside from her occasional nude scenes. Not sure if this is a mistake or deliberate - either way, it’s an original choice for such a site!
I did see a fair selection of titles here that I did not know or remember from other sites, so there is a fair chance that this site will have retro fans something to offer that other sites may not offer, and it does cover all the stars you would expect. The problems come in that many videos are not high enough in terms of their quality and some are pretty tough to watch as a result. Also, the inconsistent formatting of them really makes it a bit of a haphazard collection.
User Interface
Not great. When you login you are faced with the letters A to Z on a black page - and that’s it. It really is very poor, and things can only improve when you click on a letter. Even then you are devoid of information about the titles aside from a short list of their stars and when the movie was made, there is no information, and the video options are non-existent. Needless to say, things need to be improved markedly in the navigational department.
Conclusion
Retro Porn Flix really does almost derail itself completely with its criminally simple user interface (I couldn’t believe that A to Z opening page) - it really is that poor. But then, predictably, it is dragged back to some quality by its selection of movies.
The fact that it is able to call on many titles that haven’t been featured on most, if not all, other retro sites really does give it an edge that many of its competitors do not have. It’s also pretty good value, but they do need to sharpen the video quality. This site has the following subscription fees:-
