Many of the ladies on RetroRaunch are nameless—after all, some of this stuff is almost a century old—so giving a model count is near impossible. But RetroRaunch has plenty of content. As of this review, there are well over 2,100 photo galleries in a wide variety of themes.
The photo galleries at RetroRaunch are divided up into several categories. There’s a celebrity babes section, featuring the likes of Bettie Page, Jane Russell, Virginia Bell, and lots more. The second major section is called “Cheesecake,” and it features babes and big tit models.
The third section is hardcore sex pics. The fourth major photo section is all fetish pics, with leg/hose/feet, bondage, and even a brand new section called “catfights,” with ladies pulling each others’ hair and so on. All photo sections span the decades, from pre-1920s to 1979.
As you might suspect, the photo quality runs the gamut from true brownie-box style photos, to more recent 1970s color porno pics. Of course, it’s not the site’s “fault” for this. I had to give RetroRaunch a lower-than-usual “content quality” rating simply by virtue of the content’s age. But you’ll be surprised at how well some of the really old pics have been preserved, and even the pre-1920s content is still at about a 400x600 resolution—not bad at all.
Incredibly unique to RetroRaunch is the movies section. Yes, they have old, old porn flicks. Everything from hardcore boy/girl fucking, to burlesque shows, to masturbation. There are currently 23 movies, offered for streaming and download in Quicktime format. Again, quality varies, but considering how old some of these movies are, the quality is well preserved and re-mastered. You can even purchase retro porn DVDs!
Aside from all of the photo and video content, RetroRaunch offers a few really entertaining bonus sections. Most fascinating is the “specialty items” section, which showcases myriad adult materials from all over the world and through the decades.
It’s incredible to see advertisements from the 1930s, 40s, and 50s selling herbal penis pills, cures for erectile dysfunction, bust-building pills, and vibrators. They have vintage adult comic strips, hardcore pics from brothels, adult postcards, and even a small Asian girls hardcore section. RetroRaunch also maintains an ongoing funny photo caption contest, with winner archives dating back to 2000.
I spent hours and hours surfing through RetroRaunch, completely fascinated with it all. It truly is striking to see a wild threesome from the 1920s, or a shaved pussy in the 1950s, and blowjobs in the 30s. Of course sex and porn have been around for ever, but it just didn’t occur to me that people have been kinky since time immemorial as well!
While the site is partly entertaining for its historical value, I was continually surprised to find the content highly erotic. You really can get off to this stuff. And the fact that they have movies is a real bonus. |

The navigation on RetroRaunch is very basic. The main page lists the major categories with simple text links to the different decades of pics. From there, the photos are divided into separate galleries (sometimes of the same model, sometimes a mish-mash of many models, especially for the really old pics).
Galleries are thumbnailed for easy viewing of the overall content. You can’t move from picture to picture from within the set—the pics open in separate windows, and you’ll have to close out to move onto the next pic.
Though the navigation is nothing fancy, trust me, you’ll be too enthralled with the site to notice. Plus, RetroRaunch updates Monday through Friday with more movies and pics, so you’ll definitely get your dollars’ worth. |

RetroRaunch is one of those very rare adult sites out there that delivers what it promises and gives you a great value for the money. It’s no surprise that it’s been featured on E!, Showtime, the Washington Post, and it’s won a couple of AVN awards for site concept and best pictorial site.
After spending a lot of time on the site, I feel like I’ve discovered a secret treasure of incredible adult entertainment.
