As you would expect, the content is absolutely vast. For a start, it boasts in excess of 400,000 single images and over 500 videos, almost all of which are feature length movies or collections. The videos, perhaps understandably, can only be streamed on the site.
They are available to stream in Real Media, Quicktime and WMV formats, all displaying at 320x240 and all of them clocking in between 300-500kbps at a high speed but a very painful 100kbps for a slow speed. Image sizes range across the network but are almost always more than big enough to be getting along with.
Vivid is the unashamedly glossy and glamorous side of mainstream pornography. Its stars are glamorous and busty, not unlike mainstream Hollywood stars of the 50s, and the videos are professionally shot and even boast some production values. This is a site where looks, in more ways than one, matter.
You really can’t go wrong here, in all honesty. The sheer weight of content here almost makes this essential on its own, and Vivid has always liked to vary its content, not happy to sit back and knock out straightforward hardcore videos ad infinitum, but encouraging its biggest stars such as Kobe Tai and Jenna Jameson to get it on in the justifiably acclaimed Jenna Loves Kobe. The stars here sit very much at the bustier end of the spectrum. If you’re looking for really lithe, slim girls with petite figures then you may be a little disappointed.
The chance to view full length titles like Jenna Loves Kobe is a golden opportunity considering the fantastic membership offer. On their own, titles like this on DVD might set you back triple that price in your local sex shop so it’s an offer you really can’t refuse. And the quality is far from disappointing too, with many of Vivid's huge library available here to view, and with many titles being an absolute pleasure to watch.
Whilst it might be almost impossible, without maybe quitting your job and shunning all human contact for a couple of years, to look through all the images here, the archive available is absolutely astonishing. A personal favourite of mine, Sunny Leone, also has her own section! Quite scary in some ways – this site could eat the internet! Especially so when you consider that it’s updated practically every day and usually more than once a day as well.
Couple all this to the fact that you can grab third party contributions from the likes of the marvellous Mac & Bumble, and quite sizable they are too, Vivid may end up being so good, that it will be bad for your long-term health!
On the categorisation, search facility and menu front Vivid is excellent and extremely well organised, which is really essential considering its size. The biographies for the individual stars are also interesting and enlightening, and their individual pages are very nicely handled.
Vivid has also significantly sped up since I last visited here, turning itself from painfully sluggish to impressively quick. The only quibble I would have is that the main index page is too cluttered and occasionally confusing. But it is only a minor quibble.
Shamelessly aimed at the mass market and instant appeal, Vivid is an essential archive of videos and pictures from some of the best and famous performers in the industry. Absolutely huge, packed with good stuff, and whilst waiting for the videos to come on can be a testing experience.
