This site currently hosts over 1700 photo shoots from over 300 different magazine editions from the 1960s to the 2000s. There are also 2416 video scenes from over 383 full length movies. The videos can be streamed or downloaded in MP4 format and display at 720x576 or 640x480. You can download all of the photo sets / editions in ZIP files, which is great to see, and they are high quality and remastered uploads from what I could see. There are 2 Daily updates (1 video / 1 photoset per day).
What an absolutely delightful way to start the weekend! I absolutely love Private and its brilliant mix of softcore and hardcore glamour porn with a real European flavor, but what an absolute pleasure it is to step back into their high class past. First of all, Private Classics should be applauded for the quality of the scans of their oldest issues on this site. I don't they could reasonably have been asked to produce better quality versions of their 1960s issues than they have managed here.
It was fascinating, actually, to see how little their style has changed as a magazine but how much the models have changed. Actually, there are quite a lot of similarities in many models and it's obvious that Private still favors a particular look a lot of the time – but of course, the pubic hair has diminished greatly over the last 40 years! Wonderful stuff, though, and a really precious archive that puts other print adult magazines to shame with how lovingly their material has been reproduced here.
User Interface
The navigation here has improved since our last review. I found, however that there isn’t really enough information about the magazines themselves. For a label such as this, that was disappointing as there is so much to tell. However, I was very satisfied with the viewing options here on the galleries and the organization of the issues was very good indeed. There is also now a model index with a brief bio of the model plus links to the models content. This is a big improvement as this was one of our big gripes at the last review prior to this update.
Conclusion
Private Classics is a wonderful step back into the past that any student of porn's past will find to be as fascinating as it is erotic. There is a positive goldmine of classic porn and nude photography for you to enjoy.
The presentation of this site has improved a lot since our last review and it really stands as an archive of a glittering past. Yes, the scans have been wonderfully rendered, and now they at least have names to go with the faces. The addition of movies to this great site is also a huge plus. A big improvement.
